Kurt Okraku, the president of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), has expressed confidence in the Ghana Premier League (GPL).
He asserts that the nation’s football team is still strong and capable of performing admirably if given the necessary encouragement and support.
He said this after the finals of the just-ended Premier League championship game on Sunday, June 11, 2023, in Tarkwa. Medeama emerged champions after beating Tamale City 3-0.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with StarTimes, monitored by 1Family Radio, Kurt disclosed that the performance of the players surpassed his expectations.
“Unbelievable, unbelievable, beyond my expectations. Today, we have made a strong statement that we possess an unshakeable passion for our sports. We love our GPL, and our GPL is alive,’’ he noted.
The majority of Ghanaians and football fans, he continued, showed a great deal of interest in the current Ghana Premier League season, demonstrating the league’s continued viability.
“What we have witnessed this season has been a season that has allowed all of us to indulge in football at the highest level of quality.’’
“Until the very last minutes of our game on the final day, everyone was on the edge of their seats. Ghana football is undeniably alive,’’ Okraku added.
