Liverpool forward Mohammed Salah has taken to social media to express his disappointment and devastation over the club’s missing out on the next season of the Champions League.
He penned his pain in a post he shared on his Twitter page following Manchester City’s defeat over Chelsea on May 25, 2023.
Chelsea’s defeat means that Liverpool will play fifth in the next second-tier European inter-club competition.
Mohammed Salah apologized to the fans and supporters of Liverpool for failing to meet their expectations, adding that there was no excuse for their failure.
“I’m totally devasted. There’s absolutely no excuse for this,’’ he stated in a post sighted by 1Family Radio.
“We had everything we needed to make it to next year’s Champions League, and we failed,’’ he indicated.
“We are Liverpool, and qualifying for the competition is the bare minimum. I am sorry, but it’s too soon for an uplifting or optimistic message,’’ Salah added.
