Fuse ODG, a Ghanaian-British musician, has allegedly been a victim of police molestation in the United Kingdom.
According to the singer, this is not the first time something of this sort has happened to him, but he decided to share this video on social media because he is apparently tired of seeing it.
In the video he shared on his Instagram page and sighted by 1Family Radio, the musician was handcuffed and dragged out of his car over suspicion of cannabis.
This incident happened on February 28, 2023, in the middle of the street in Brixton. Fuse ODG stated that he was dragged out of his car and handcuffed with no warning or explanation.
The musician was seen asking the police if they have any warrant to search his car while resisting them but he was overpowered by the officers.
“I spent about six hours in the accident and emergency ward due to how tightly they clamped the cuffs on me,” he indicated.
“This isn’t the first time this has happened to me. At one point, it was almost a weekly occurrence. At this stage in life, we are now in a position to have the resources at our disposal to deal with these issues differently. We have filed a formal complaint with the metropolitan Police in the UK, and we are very grateful to Tundeokwale of Urban Lawyers who has come to stand in the gap for us,’’ says the fuse note.
He continued that the sad reality is that, as a black man living abroad, it doesn’t really matter how much money you make or the positive impact that you have on the world; they still only see you as one thing.
Fuse added that he will continue to teach the next generation to see themselves differently through his music.
