Former President John Dramani Mahama has stated that Ghanaians are yearning for the comeback of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
He stated that the NDC will employ the house-to-house style of preaching by the Jehovah witness during their campaign towards the 2024 general elections.
“You will campaign like Jehovah’s Witness but this time, you will be witnesses of the NDC,’’ he said during his campaign tour in Sissala on Tuesday monitored by 1Family Radio.
Mahama added that because of the achievements of the party in its previous government, Ghanaians want the party to assume power in the 2024 general elections.
“Ghanaians are calling on the NDC to come back because they have discovered that that everything they were told about the party was nothing but lies,’’ he said.
According to the former president, as at the time he was leaving power in 2016, Ghana had an outstanding debt of GH¢120 billion with projects to show for it.
Mr. Mahama noted that the NPP has nothing to show for the over GH¢600 billion loans they’ve taken.
“The debt was GH¢ 120 billion while we were leaving office. With no infrastructural projects to show for it, it is already approaching GH¢ 600 billion.’’
“At the very least, a hospital should be constructed, and infrastructure should be in place, but sadly, that is not the case,’’ he added.
