Ghanaian dancehall and reggae artiste, Stonebwoy has opened up on why he deserves to win the Artiste of the Year at the 24th edition of the Vodafone Music Awards (VGMA).
According to him, he has won the Reggae Artiste of the Year for more than five times therefore nothing is stopping him from winning the Artiste of the Year.
“Let me be very honest without disrespecting anyone, I have won the Artiste of the Year for Reggae/Dancehall for six successive time,’’ he said in an exclusive interview with TV3 monitored by 1Family Radio.
He continued, “I have been nominated for Artiste of the Year four times, and all other things being equal, I should have won the award for four times.
Stonebwoy whose birth name is Livingstone Este Satekla stated that despite some minor setbacks, he is still hopeful that he will win the biggest award of the night.
“This is like Balotelli Balon D’or behavour. I won the Reggae Artiste of the Year in 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019 and came back in 2021. I have won this back-to-back in the Reggae category and I deserve to the win the topmost award,’’ he said.
“I have put in a lot of effort this year and I strongly believe that my music has made some impact in the industry. I’m hoping and praying that this year will be my year,’’ Stonebwoy indicated.
