Diamond Michelle Gbagonah, Ghanaian media personality better known as Shatta Michy has lauded Gyakie for her decent way of dressing despite her fame.
According to Shatta Michy, Gyakie as an artiste has proven that you can use your talent to get what you want in life and not your body.
Speaking as a guest on TV3’s Ladies Circle monitored by 1Family Radio, Michy stated that Gyakie has changed the narrative that female artiste has to dress seductively before Ghanaians can accept their music.
“It’s a little bit sexualized in the entertainment industry but can I tell you something? Musicians like Gyakie have proven to us that you don’t have to expose yourself sexually in order for your music to trend in Ghana,’’ she noted.
Michy continued that Gyakie has inspired her style of dressing therefore when she finally comes back into the music industry, she will follow Gyakie’s footsteps.
“I have never seen her looking sexual, she is always in a good outfit and that’s what I plan on doing personally and professionally when come back into the industry, I won’t be wearing any transparent clothing to enjoy the limelight,’’ Michy said.
She urged women to avoid sexuality in their music and dressing because there are better ways to gain trend apart from being sexual.
“You can always include sexy in a more elegant way provided your music is of good quality. Let’s stop using the word decent but rather sexy and elegant,’’ she added.
