Former head of communications at the Charterhouse Productions limited has started a campaign in support of dancehall musician Stonebwoy to win the Artiste of the Year of the 24th edition of the VGMA.
Stonebwoy is battling for the Artiste of the Year award with seven other musicians including gospel artistes Piesie Esthe, Joe Mettle, Black Sherif and Sarkodie amongst others.
As a way of throwing his support behind Stonebwoy, George Quaye has stated that the artiste is the only one who was able to fly the flag of Ghana at the World Cup in Qatar and also participated in the planting of the 10 million trees as part of the Green Ghana Campaign which makes him an exceptional artiste and a global citizen.
In an Instagram post by George sighted by 1Family Radio, he noted that Stonebwoy is a role model and an inspiration to the youth of this country.
“With multiple international appearances, performances and collaborations, awards, and a sold-out Bhim Concert under his belt, it is no surprise that Stonebwoy has been making waves in the music industry for years now,’’ he said.
He continued, “From his impressive global impact to his philanthropic efforts, Stonebwoy has proven that he is more than just your ordinary act.’’
“He is a role model, leader and an inspiration to the youth of Ghana and beyond,’’ George stated.
According to him, he is not seeking to influence anyone’s vote but to present the best person he thinks is worthy of wining the title on that night.
“I don’t know which way you have voted and I am not here to influence that in any way. But if you want an act that’s worth the ultimate honor on the night, here’s one worth looking at,’’ George added.
