The Parliament of Ghana has approved five loan agreements by the government on Tuesday, May 2, 2023.
The five loan agreements which was endorsed by the house during an emergency sitting summed up to an amount of $710 million.
News reaching us (1Family Radio) is that although the minority caucus in parliament resisted the approval of these new loan agreements, the majority went ahead to approve the agreements.
This news was also confirmed by the lawmaker of the South Dayi Constituency on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Hon. Rockson-Nelson Dafeamkpor in a post he shared on his Twitter page.
The post sighted by 1Family Radio comes with the document of the loan agreements with the caption which indicates that the government is unashamedly begging for loans despite the current economic woes of the country.
“In this austere times, this government is unashamedly asking Parliament to approve all these huge loans… amazing,’’ the post read.
