Ghanaian Gospel Musician and producer, Nana Osei popularly known as Nacee has cleared the air on why he metioned Asamoah Gyan’s name in one of his songs.
‘’Wo wo sika sen Asamoah Gyan kwraa yenta gyae’’ is a line in Nacee’s song titled ‘Boys Boys’. Some Ghanaians primitively thought this line was an attempt by the musician to mock or mitigate the wealth of the famous Ghanaian footballer.
But speaking in an interview with kofi TV monitored by 1Family Radio, the musician explained why he mentioned the legendary footballer’s name in his song.
According to him, it was his own little way of appreciating Asamoah Gyan for the help he offered him in the past.
He narrated that in 2015 when he was organizing his ‘No Tribe’ concert, he encountered some financial difficulties but Asamoah Gyan came through for him and made his concert a success.
“I mentioned Asamoah Gyan in my song because he has helped me before. In 2015, when I was preparing for my ‘No Tribe’ concert and I was having some financial challenges, Asamoah Gyan gave me $80000 and I am praying to get the chance to meet him again to tell him how grateful I am to him,’’ he disclosed.
Nacee continued that he met Asamoah Gyan through Sally Frimpong Mann and he offered to help him without asking for anything in return.
“Sally Frimpong Mann introduced me to Asamoah Gyan and his brother, Baffour Gyan and I tell you this, they were very generous. It was my ‘No Tribe’ concert and it turned out to be good program. Asamaoh Gyan is really a good man,’’ Nacee said.
