Grammy-winning Jamaican reggae band, Morgan Heritage has opened up on who inspired them to come to this country.
Three members of the Morgan Heritage, Gramps Morgan, Peetah Morgan and Mojo Morgan are currently in the country to promote their new album ‘The Homeland’ which features some Ghanaian musicians like Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale.
According to the group, the late JJ Rawlings inspired them to come to Ghana when he visited Jamaica some years ago.
Speaking in an interview on Citi TV monitored by 1Family Radio, they noted that they’ve always wanted to visit Ghana and Kenya.
“I quite remember former President JJ Rawlings, may his soul rest in peace, when he visited Jamaica and it was at the stadium, he entreated the entire community to come back to Ghana,’’ Gramps, one of the three stated.
“He said we should come back home because Ghana is the gateway to Africa.”
”It was something we always wanted to do, I mean to come to Ghana and Kenya,” he said.
