The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has disclosed its intention to reward citizens who will help in the company’s revenue mobilization exercise.
This news was confirmed by the Managing Director of the ECG, Samuel Dubik Mahama in an interview on Peace FM on the 17th of April, 2023.
According to him, anyone who reports an illegal connection will be rewarded 6% commission out of the recovered bill.
For the last couple of weeks, ECG started a revenue mobilization exercise to recover GH¢ 5.7 billion debts owed by its customers nationwide. According to the power distributing company, they have been able to recover about half of the total amount.
Speaking on Peace FM’s Kokrokoo Morning program monitored by 1Family Radio, Samuel stated they want to engage the general public in their debt recovery exercise.
“It is 6%, you will be rewarded a 6% commission. We are coming to announce it. If you report anyone for engaging in illegal connection, you will be given 6% out of the recovered bill,’’ he stated.
