Mr. Abraham Kotei Neequaye, the current president of the Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA) has stated that the authority will only support Freezy Macbones if he reaches out to them.
UK-based Ghanaian boxer, Seth Gyimah professionally known as Freezy MacBones has been in the news following his conquest over Darryl Sharp at the Copper Boxing Arena over the weekend.
Despite his victory and calls from Ghanaians for the GBA to reach out to Gyimah to fight on the ticket of the country, Mr. Neequaye has stated that the boxer must first show his interest to fight for the country before the GBA can offer him any assistance.
Speaking in an interview on Accra-based Angel FM monitored by 1Family Radio, the president of the GBA noted that Gyimah is supposed to reach out to them and not the other way round.
According to Kotei, the GBA is not in a rush to reach out to the lightweight fighter although they are ready to support him.
“We are not supposed to call him. MacBones should reach out to us if he really wants to fight in the ticket of the country. However, we are ready to assist him,’’ Neequaye said.
