Ghanaian rapper and musician, Fameye has stated that some lookalikes of celebrities are actually good contrary to the views of some Ghanaians.
Recently, some lookalikes of Ghanaian musicians like Kuami Eugene, King Promise Mr. Drew and King Promise have been in the news after they were captured impersonating these celebrities.
Some section of Ghanaians and celebrities believe that these lookalikes are destroying the brand of the original celebrities.
However, Fameye has shared a different view about these lookalikes. According to him, his lookalike is helping promote his music and he is very cool with that while adding that it is okay to resemble someone so far as you don’t sabotage their brand.
Speaking in an interview on TV3 monitored by 1Family Radio, Fameye disclosed that there are some people who got to know him through his lookalike and because of this he has no problem with his lookalike.
He furthered that his lookalike knows most of his songs which are not even popular and he has videos of Fameye in a duet on his Tiktok page. “In a way, he is helping push my music and my brand,’’ he stated.
The ‘Obolo’ hitmaker however sent a stern warning to his lookalike not to do anything illegal because he will not go scot-free.
“Just don’t do anything illicit like playing shows or duping people because then there will be problem between us. Just have fun,’’ he cautioned.
