Former President John Dramani Mahama has stated that the NPP government has filled the Electoral Commission with party faithful in order to rig the 2024 general elections.
He noted that if truly the elections would be free, fair and transparent, then the National Democratic Congress should win the elections.
Addressing some party delegates which was monitored by 1Family Radio, the former president stated that just like Azumah went into the ring with his own referee during his match against Jeff Fenech, that is the same manner the NDC will go into the elections with their own referee.
The former president narrated that during the bout between Azumah and Fenech, the former stated that he was going into the fight with his own referee. The referee was his resolution to knock out Jeff Fenech and he did that perfectly.
Mahama continued that although the incumbent government has filled the offices of the EC with his party members, he will still kick out the NPP just like Azumah.
“The NPP are frightened and so they have appointed party faithful unto the EC. The people who were recently appointed at the EC are completely NPP staunch,’’ he noted.
“But you know what, we are also going into the elections with our own referee to put up an extraordinary performance and ultimately win the elections convincingly to make it impossible for anyone to rig the elections,’’ Mahama said.
He furthered that this time around, the NDC won’t allow anyone rig the elections like it was done previously.
“We won’t allow anyone to rig the elections because we will make sure it is free and fair and by the grace of God, the NDC will surely win,’’ he added.
