Founder and leader of the Alabaster International Ministry, Prophet Kofi Oduro has expressed his disappointment about the statement made by veteran gospel music trio, Daughters of Glorious Jesus.
Speaking in an interview on United Showbiz, the Daughters of Glorious Jesus disclosed that there is nothing wrong with listening to secular music so far as it inspires you to do the right thing. According to them, it is God who gives the talent and every God-given talent should be appreciated.
“I listen to songs by Kojo Antwi and I don’t cease to be a Christian because I listen to Kojo Antwi. Some of his songs give good counsel. He also sings love songs. Just imagine listen to a love song by Kojo Antwi with your partner, is it not a good feeling?’’ Monica, one of the three members stated.
Edna, another member also stated, “It is God who gives talent. As a Christian, you can listen to secular songs and sometimes, their lyrics can even compel you to do the right thing.’’
In reaction to this, Prophet Oduro has asserted that such statements are bad examples to Christians considering the fact that they came from such renowned gospel musicians.
“I was watching a program on TV just recently and I became extremely sad because of what I heard,’’ he noted.
“I heard gospel musicians speaking on their preferences of secular songs. When I heard them, I screamed. This is not a good example to the Christendom. Such Christianity will destroy the gospel in just ten years. In ten years, there will be no gospel. In ten years, there will be nothing like a gospel,’’ he stated.
He furthered that although Christians have been given their free will, they should know that not all things are beneficial.
“How will you feel if you come and meet me smoking on the altar? All things are permissible but not all things are expedient to humanity.’’
“I don’t listen to Bob Marley or Alpha Blonde. When it comes to the scriptures, your views do not matter. The word of God is the standard. You will realize that your opinions are not needed when you burn in hellfire.’’
“During the outbreak of COVID, we were all instructed to stay indoors which we obeyed, how much more the word of God?’’ he quizzed.
