Henry Osei Akoto, the 2020 parliamentary candidate for Oforikrom on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has shared his two cents on the ruling government’s load shedding timetable.
On Friday, 31st March, 2023, the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) released a power interruption schedule.
According to statement issued by the power distributing company, the interruption in the power supply is because of the maintenance works being carried out by the Ghana National Gas Company (GNGC) on the Atuabo Gas Processing Plant (GPP).
Reacting to this, Mr. Akoto has stated that the load shedding timetable by the ECG has proven the heights of hypocrisy in this country.
His reaction comes after some section of Ghanaians took to social media to compare the current load shedding to the dumsor era of former president John Dramani Mahama.
In a post he shared on his Twitter handle, the politician stated that the way Ghanaians have accepted the current dumsor is amazing.
The tweet sighted by 1Family Radio noted, “the way Ghanaians are entertaining NPP’s load shedding timetable and praising ECG’s swiftness in taking their lights out on time is interesting.’’
He asserted that the level of hypocrisy in this country is huge considering how Ghanaians are not complaining about the load shedding like they did during John Mahama’s administration.
“The hypocrisy in this country is grande,’’ he said.
“Let this be Mahama and they will find their voices and heaven will come crashing down,’’ he concluded.
