The former secretary of the dissovled Inter-Ministerial Committee on Illegal Mining (IMCIM) Mr. Charles Bissiw has purported that Prof. Kwabena Frimpong Boateng is a suspect in the galamsey investigation by the police.
Mr. Bissiw disclosed that Prof. Frimpong, the former Minister of Environment, Science and Tecchnology is a suspect because he was in charge of the government excavators that disappeared some years ago.
Speaking in an interview on Accra-based Neat FM monitored by 1Family Radio, Mr. Bissiw indicated that after Prof. Boateng reported the missing excavators case to the police, he was declared a suspect after investigations by the police.
According to Bissiw, Professor knows the whereabouts of the missing excavators. He furthered that after Prof. Boateng reported the case to the Police Service, he also presented his statement to the CID and after some investigations were conducted, Prof. Frimpong was again declared a suspect.
“Prof. Frimpong later reported the case to the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI) but he sacked the officers from the BNI who were sent to question him about the missing excavators.
He continued that the BNI also declared Pro. Frimpong a suspect. According to Mr. Bissiw, the professor has all the answers the country needs about the missing excavators.
“Prof. Frimpong Boateng has disappointed the country by not providing the answers the country needs,” he concluded.
