Stephen Adom Kyei-Duah, the founder and head pastor of Believers Worship Centre has disclosed that the church is to be blamed for the collapse of the movie industry.

Speaking during a discussion on Second Chance TV monitored by 1Family Radio, the Man of God indicated that Christianity has collapsed the Kumawood industry. According to him, the church is full of concerts which has prevented Ghanaians from patronizing the movie industry.

“People now tune in to the channel of pastors if they want to laugh. How will such people go to the National Theatre to watch movies when the theatre is now in the church and almost every church is on free-to-air TV?’’ he asked.

He furthered, “’we only used to see witches confessing in movies but now the same thing happens in church. At first you only hear people insulting themselves in movies but now it is very common to see such things in the church.”

He added that people will not patronize movies because churches have become theatres. “All the concert is found in the church so people will not patronize movies,’’ he stated.

“I am telling the people in the movie industry that the church has led to the collapse of the movie industry,’’ he concluded.
