Mas-ud Didi Dramani, the assistant coach for the senior national team has explained why no local player was selected to be part of the squad for the match against Angola.
According him, they didn’t select a local player because they needed players who are consistent in order to get the results they need.
Speaking in an interview with Citi Sports monitored by 1Family Radio, the assistant coach noted they excluded local players because of the closeness of the game and also they needed high performing players with consistency.
He furthered that this will help pre-empty on the negativities in the team and it will also give the football association the chance to focus on the local players.
“The main objective of Chris Hughton is to maintain and improve on the squad which played at the 2022 World Cup,’’ he added.
He indicated, ‘’when you look carefully at the team, it consists of consistent players and we want to remain consistent and that is why we didn’t select any local player.”
