Fred Nuamah, an actor now turned politician has disclosed that he is taken aback by John Dumelo’s decision to contest for the Ayawaso West Wuogon seat.
According to Fred, he will not step down because John Dumelo had initially assured him that he had no intentions of contesting therefore he should be the one to step down.
Speaking with Graphic Showbiz monitored by 1Family Radio, the actor noted “frankly, it’s too late to step down. John Dumelo informed me and others that he has no plans of contesting for the Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency again. He even gave me his blessings when I told him I wanted to contest.”
He disclosed that he has always wanted to be a politician and he decided to contest for the Ayawaso West Wuogon seat because John assured him that he was not going to contest again. Therefore, it is wrong for people to think that the reason he is contesting is to derail his friend’s chances of winning in the upcoming elections.
According to him, he was taken aback when John declared his intentions to contest again. “Truthfully, I am surprised about his u-turn because it was apparent and evident that he was not going to contest for the Ayawaso seat anymore,” he noted.
He furthered that he expects John Dumelo to honour his word when he stated that he won’t contest and rather throw his support behind him.
