Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the vice president of Ghana has officially inaugurated the Kumasi Central Mosque. This took place on the 3rd of March,2023.
The Central Mosque which is the second largest in Ghana comes with a 7,000-capacity seater and a 100- capacity ablution area with 11 furnished office.
It also has 11 furnished office with a 40 people capacity Imam office. The mosque is fully air conditioned with more than 30 underground washrooms. It is furnished with 500 capacity conference hall, male and female corpse bathing room and a two-bedroom apartment.
The vice president single-handedly funded the renovation and refurbishment to fulfil a promise he made to the Muslim community in Kumasi.
Some members of parliament and other prominent people in Ghana accompanied the vice president to inaugurate the mosque.
