Dan Kwaku Yeboah, the head of sports at Despite Media has urged ex-president John Dramani Mahama to return his ex-gratia to prove that he meant what he said during his campaign.
On March 2, 2023, former president John Dramani Mahama during the launch of his campaign in the Volta Region projected that he would scrap the ex-gratia received by the members of the executive under Article 71 of the 1992 constitution should he assume power.
Speaking in an interview on Peace FM monitored by 1Family Radio, the sports journalist indicated that actions speaks louder than words therefore Mahama should return all the ex-gratia he has received just like Togbe Afede XIV did somewhere last year.
According to him, Mahama made this same promise during his campaign in 2015 but he couldn’t scrap it when he came into power. “Now that he is in opposition, how does he intends on scraping it?” he quizzed.
“Set an example by returning the ones you have received and I’ll campaign and clap for him,” he stated. He furthered that the Mahama should learn Paramount Chief of Asogli, Tobge Afede XIV who returned his ex-gratia to the government.
