The speaker of parliament, Hon. Alban Bagbin has admitted two key motions from the minority caucus in parliament.
Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, the minority caucus in parliament headed by the MP for the Ajumako Enyan Essiam Constituency, Ato Forson filed some motions in parliament demanding that the Domestic Debt Exchange Program be brought before parliament and a committee must be set up to probe the National Cathedral.
A tweet sighted by 1Family Radio shared by the minority leader in parliament, Ato Forson on March 3, 2023, indicated that the speaker of parliament has admitted these motions filed by the minority caucus.
According to the lawmaker, the admittance by the speaker means that Ken Ofori-Atta will have to bring the DDEP to parliament for discussions and also a committee will be set up to investigate the issues pertaining to the National Cathedral.
The tweet stated “Friends I am glad to announce the speaker has admitted two key motions from us.”
What this implies is that the Ken Ofori-Atta, “the finance minister will be coerced to bring the government’s debt restructuring program before parliament for consideration.”
He furthered that “a committee will be set up to conduct enquiry into the National Cathedral and all the issues related to it.”
