Kennedy Agyapong, the MP for Assin Central and also an NPP flagbearer hopeful has lamented that he feels guilty about the level of employment among the youth of the country.
Speaking in interview on Peace FM monitored by 1Family Radio, the lawmaker indicated he feels guilty when he sees his children working in other countries while the youth of this country are unemployed six years after finishing school.
He furthered that he always feels sorry comparing the conditions of the youth in this country and his children living abroad. According to him, his children are gainfully employed immediately after completing college but the youth down here will have to suffer before getting employed.
Kennedy Agyapong quizzed on the measures being taken by the government to create more jobs for the youth. He added that here in Ghana, some graduates will still have to depend on their parents six years after graduating from the university.
“I feel guilty about these things because six years after completing school without jobs makes the youth give up in life,’’ he lamented.
The lawmaker called on the NPP executives to vote for him in order to become the president through which he can create more jobs for the youth.
“I have several companies as a businessman but then I can’t employ all the unemployed graduates in the country. Therefore, I have decided to contest for the presidency to enable me transform this country,” he noted.
He added that if he has been able to create several opportunities and some Ghanaians are benefiting from it, he can do more to improve the economy if given the chance to become the president.
