Dr. Mohammed Amin Adam, the minister of state-designate for the Finance Ministry has declared that the current economic mess is due to the outbreak of COVID-19.

According to him, the current economic hardships is not because the NPP government has mismanaged the economy but it as a result of COVID 19. He made this statement during his vetting before the Appointment Committee of Parliament which was monitored by 1Family Radio.

He hinted that the before the outbreak of COVID 19, the economy was growing at a rate six percent, inflation and interest rates were very low and the government was investing money in education and health.

Dr. Mohammed furthered that the problems Ghanaians are facing currently cannot crush the economy or the country as a whole. He added that the economy will bounce back very soon because we have a strong leadership and the NPP knows how to get the economy back on track.

“The economy will bounce back, there is always light at the end of the tunnel,” he noted.
