Former President John Dramani Mahama has announced that he will contest in the 2024 presidential elections.
He made this statement on February 21, 2023 when he met the minority caucus in parliament at his house in Accra. Although all the members of the minority caucus couldn’t attend the meeting, those that were present assured the former president of their support.
The former president disclosed that he will contest for the flagbearership of the National Democratic Congress and ultimately the presidency.
Speaking in an interview on TV3 monitored by 1Family Radio, the member of parliament for Builsa South, Dr. Clement Apaak indicated that the minority caucus appealed to the former president to contest in the presidential elections considering his skills and experience.
Dr. Apaak has also declared his support for John Mahama in tweet he shared. “We have assured him of our full unwavering support. #JM 2024!’’ the tweet read.
Meanwhile, the NDC has announced that the nomination forms for the parliamentary and the presidential candidates are now accessible for purchase on the party’s official website www.ghanandc.com. This statement was released on February 21, 2023.
