Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the Vice President of Ghana has disclosed that the government will help the family of the late Christian Atsu to give the deceased a befitting burial.
Christian Atsu’s mortal remains arrived in Accra on Febrauary,19 2023 at the Kotoka International Airport. Atsu who was trapped in a rubble after an earthquake struck Turkey on February,6 2023, was confirmed dead on the February, 18,2023.
Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, speaking at the airport assured the family and fans of the late former Black Stars forward that the government will support in the burial of Atsu.
He also extended his condolences to the family and to all Ghanaians for this painful loss. “We pray that the soul of Christian Atsu rest in perfect peace in the bosom of the Lord,” he noted. He indicated that the government will fully be involved with the family in providing a befitting burial for Christian Atsu.
Other distinguished personality at the airport included Kojo Oppong, the Minister of information, Dr. Lawrence Tetteh and also the secretary of the GFA, Prosper Harrison.
Dr. Lawrence Tetteh, a renowned global evangelist urged Ghanaians to celebrate the people while they are still alive rather than paying tribute after they pass away.
