Kojo Bonsu, one of the flagbearer aspirants of the National Democratic Congress has disclosed that he intends to run his campaign based on the achievements of the party.
Mr. Bonsu is expected to contest with the former president John Mahama and a former Governor of the Bank of Ghana, Dr. Kwabena Duffour.
Mr. Bonsu who was the mayor of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) under John Dramani Mahama noted that, the former president played a key role in uplifting the party’s image through his achievements for the country.
However, speaking to Daily Graphic, Mr. Bonsu stated that the former president cannot achieve anything remarkable even if he wins the elections because he has only run for a term. He believes that he is in a better position to add to the success of the previous leaders of the party.
According to him, the ruling government for the past six years has mishandled the country and everything seems to be crashing however, considering his proficiency and global networking, he has the midas touch to change things around.
“This country can only be transformed by new ideas and fresh blood of which I have both,” he indicated. Mr. Bonsu hinted that he would be able to transform the country for the better if given the opportunity.
He commended his two contenders for exhibiting some level of maturity in their campaigns by not attacking each other verbally.
