Samuel Nartey George, the member of parliament for the Ningo-Prampram Constituency has alleged that the Ghana Football Association appointed the former Brighton manager, Chris Hughton as the coach for the Black Stars because he is gullible and can be manipulated by the GFA.
Speaking in an interview on TV3 monitored by 1Family Radio, the lawmaker stated that Chris Hughton was appointed because of his relationship with the GFA and how easily he could be manipulated by the GFA officials.
He quizzed if Chris was appointed because he is the best coach available or the GFA wants someone they can manipulate. He believes that Chris Hughton will easily kowtow to the influence of the GFA and that’s why he was appointed as the coach.
The lawmaker furthered that the recent failure of the Black stars is because players are selected based on favouritism which is the fault of the GFA and not the coaches. He added that the players selected are not really the best players but those with money and relationships in the GFA. Sam indicated that sometimes the players have to pay money before they can be selected.
He hinted that some of the GFA officials decide on the players the coach should select and the tactics they must use.He admonished the GFA officials to step down from their positions and apply to be the coach if they think they know so much about coaching.
Sam stated that you must either have money or a relationship before you can get a selection.
