Samuel Koku Anyidoho, the Chief Executive Officer of the Atta Mills Institute and the former Deputy General Secretary of the NDC has commended the former Chief Justice, Sophia Akuffo for condemning the government’s decision to include the retirees in the DDEP.
On February,10,2023, Sophia Akuffo joined the group of pensioners to picket at the office of the Finance Minister. Speaking in an interview, she stated that the government’s decision to include the pensioners in the Domestic Debt Exchange Program is wicked, disrespectful and unlawful.
A post sighted by 1Family Radio on Koku’s Twitter handle indicated that Sophia Akuffo has proven to be a well-meaning citizen of this country. “Very senior ‘’citizens’’ (not spectators), are talking. “He who has ears, let him listen to what the Holy Spirit is saying to the Church,” he stated in reaction to Sophia’s statement.
He furthered that his own people will be jumping on this and definitely commend Sophia for her boldness to stand against her own political party. Koku hinted that here in Ghana, people who speak the truth are considered traitors and bitter people.
Mr. Koku added that Sophia Akuffo joined the pensioners to picket at the Ministry of Finance because she knows that this decision by the government will adversely affect the pensioners. He emphasized that those who have ears should hear.
