A breastfeeding mother has allegedly slashed three fingers of her nephew for stealing fish from her soup.

Following a report from Angel FM, Akwasi, a 5-year-old boy resides at Wisiswisi in the Eastern region with his uncle and the wife after he lost his mother.

According to the report, the breastfeeding mother, sister Ama allegedly caught Akwasi stealing fish from her soup which led to her slashing three of the boy’s fingers.

An eyewitness reported that, she heard Akwasi wailing so she asked the aunt what the problem was and she replied that she has cut Akwasi’s fingers because she found him stealing fish from her soup.

Another witness enquired if sister Ama had used a knife or blade and she answered that she used knife in inflicting the wounds on the boy. After hearing this from the aunt, she retorted “sister Ama, you’re wicked”. She later called Akwasi and with the help of a tenant, gave him first aid.

The report from another witness indicated that, she was braiding her hair when she saw that Sister Ama had cut the fingers of Akwasi. She called the boy but his aunty tried to stop him from coming. After they insisted on seeing the boy, they discovered that three of his fingers has been chopped off by the aunty.

Akwasi is currently in the hospital receiving treatment.
