Ato Forson, the MP for the Enyan Essiam Constituency and the current minority leader in parliament has declared that no form of negligence will be tolerated under his leadership.
On January 23,2023, the National Executive Council of the NDC announced that changes have been made to the party’s minority caucus in parliament. Haruna Iddrisu was replaced by Ato Forson as the minority leader of the party in parliament.
In Ato Forson’s maiden address to parliament as the current minority leader on February 7,2023, the lawmaker asserted that his leadership means business and he will not tolerate any form of laxity and any lackadaisical attitude towards work by the government officials in parliament.
He added that they will be very vigilant and every government policy, bills and programs will be scrutinized. Ato Forson asserted that the opposition under his leadership will not face any bad governance from the ruling party.
The lawmaker pledged to the speaker of parliament and the people of Ghana that the minority caucus under his leadership will not make any compromises when it comes to the things they believe to be right.
Ato Forson expressed his gratitude towards the speaker for his leadership and service to the public. He added that he will be working with all the government officials in parliament to ensure the objectives of the house are achieved.
