The minority caucus of parliament under the leadership of Cassiel Ato Forson has hinted that they are not frightened by the legal actions against Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa by the secretary of the Board of Trustees of the National Cathedral in the person of Rev. Victor Kusi Boateng alias Kwabena Adu Gyamfi.

Rev. Kusi Boateng on February, 3,2023, was able to secure a ten-day restraining order against Samuel Ablakwa, the Member of Parliament for the North Tongu Constituency. The order restrains the lawmaker from any further publications on the Conflict of Interest and also sharing any document belonging to Rev. Kusi.

In a statement issued by Ato Forson in parliament on the 8th of February, 2023, it was stated that the minority leadership will ensure that every detail of “this scandal-plagued national cathedral project” is boldly published to the general public.

It was noted that the NDC caucus in parliament disapproves of the public humiliation subjected to the lawmakers of the NDC by some undemocratic elements to prevent the lawmakers from discharging their constitutional duties.

He cited that the absurd and cowardly legal action against Samuel Ablakwa by the secretary of the Board of Trustees who was appointed by the president as Rev. Victor Kusi Boateng but he now claims to be Kwabena Adu Gyamfi is a desperate effort to restrain parliamentary scrutiny and to pervert justice.

He furthered that the legal action by the secretary raises logical questions about the duality identity of Rev. Kusi. It was indicated that ambushing a lawmaker with a secret video recording him on the premises of a television can only be an orchestration by a lawless cabal.

In the statement, it was noted that, patriotic and diligent lawmakers are threatened with imprisonment when they discharge their duties while the government protects offenders in the country.

” The Minority caucus in Parliament hereby serves notice that we shall not be frightened by any judicial abuse and tyranny. We will fearlessly pursue all aspects of this scandal-plagued National Cathedral project and the related matters of conflict of interest”, the statement noted.
