Christian Atsu, a Ghanaian international footballer has been rescued after being trapped in a rubble in Turkey on February 6, 2023.
On February 6,2023, an earthquake of 7.7 magnitude struck Turkey and some part of Syria. This claimed over thousands of lives with so many people missing including Atsu and his director, Taner Savut.
As of now, Atsu has been rescued by the search and rescue team. Following a report by Mustafa Ozat, the Vice-president of Hatayspor, Atsu was pulled out of the rubble with injuries.
He also stated that Atsu’s director is yet to be found and it is assumed that he is still in the collapsed building. The government of Turkey is providing support and aid for the victims of this disaster while the rescue team continues their search.
Mr. Mustafa reported that Atsu is receiving treatment at a hospital because his foot was injured when he was found. That is all the information he has now.
He asserted that they are praying for director Savut notwithstanding the fact they are happy Atsu has been rescued.
