The Western North delegates of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has lambasted Alan Kyerematen for soliciting for their votes after ignoring them over the years.

Alan Kyerematen relinquished his position as the Minister of Trade and Industry in pursuit of his ambition to become the flagbeaerer of the party in the upcoming primaries election.

Over the weekend, he visited the Western North to seek for votes from the delegates of the party. However, the delegates didn’t cooperate with him and lambasted him for abandoning the delegates in the Western North for years. Some of these executives hinted that Alan Kyerematen has never visited the executives in the region but when he needed their votes, he has found his way to them.

One of the delegates indicated that they would be stupid to elect Alan as the flagbearer of the party after forsaking them. He alleged that Alan has showed up pretending to care for them but his real motive is to solicit for their votes. He also lamented that Alan has never interacted with the executives and the members of the NPP in the Western North. He stated that the former minister doesn’t have any relationship with the party members.

‘’If anyone wants to win as the flagbearer of the party, he must have a strong bond with the executives’’, one of the executives noted. He added that all the past flagbearers of the party interacted very well with the party members but Alan do not interact with them.

Another person also noted that Bawumia visits the region frequently and even assists to campaign for the party therefore they will support him whenever he needs it.

Some of the delegates indicated that they are not pleased with how Alan condemns the ruling government in his campaigns. Alan has allegedly told some delegates of the party that it will be difficult for the party to win the upcoming presidential elections because of the economic crisis of the country. They stated that it is not right for Alan to attack the NPP government in his pursuit of the flagbearership.

They furthered that there will be no government’s record for Alan to campaign on if he keeps condemning the ruling government.
