Turkey has been struck by a 7.7 magnitude earthquake which has claimed over thousands of lives on Monday February 6, 2023.
According to the CNN reports, the earthquake has claimed 1800 lives in Turkey and Syria. This earthquake is reportedly the world second largest earthquake to have happened in the century.
Few hours after the earthquake struck Turkey, an aftershock of 7.5 magnitude occurred which affected Iraqi Kurdistan and Syria.
Christian Atsu, a thirty-one old Ghanaian and also a player of the Turkish Super Lig Club was reported to have been part of the people who were trapped in the rubble.Other teammates of his have been rescued but Atsu is yet to be found. His director, Taner Savut is also missing.
A post shared by the former president of Ghana sighted by 1Family Radio urged Ghanaians to pray for Christian Atsu and his director. He is pleading with Ghanaians to pray for God to spare their lives.
The search and rescue teams are doing everything possible to rescue the people trapped in the ruble.
