Popular Ghanaian award-winning songwriter and vocalist, Efya has lambasted Blakk Rasta on his reactions towards Sarkodie’s performance on the remake of ‘Stir It Up’, a song by the late Bob Marley.
Few weeks ago, the remix of ‘Stir It Up’ was released by the wailers featuring Sarkodie. Speaking on his show, the Urban Blend, Blakk Rasta announced that what Sarkodie did was a disgrace to the late Bob Marley. He compared Sarkodie’s performance to the looting of ornaments from a buried king.
Monitoring an interview on GHOne TV, Efya was asked to voice her opinion on Blakk Rasta’s comment about the performance of Sarkodie. The host was amazed when Efya declared that she doesn’t know anyone by the name Blakk Rasta.
Efya asked the host who is Blakk Rasta and what he does. She assumed he was a journalist and therefore stated that journalists always utter what they want but she doesn’t care what he said.
‘Barack Obama’, one of Blakk Rasta’s song was sang by the host to hint on who Blakk Rasta is. In response to this, Efya referred to Blakk Rasta as a funny man who does hysterical songs.
Efya stated that Ghanaians are too quick to judge their fellow brothers and this will lead us nowhere. She furthered that the opinion of Blakk Rasta is of no importance and he has no right to condemn the song. She noted that the comments of Blakk Rasta will not change anything. This is because the song will not be changed to fit his taste.
According to Efya what Sarkodie has done is very outstanding and it is time Ghanaians praised their own people.
