Livingstone Etse sakela, a Ghanaian dancehall artiste popularly known by the stage name Stonebwoy has asserted that the reason why Nigerian artistes are flourishing is not just because of their massive numbers in the music industry.
He made this statement during an interview on the Breakfast Club in the New York City hosted by Charlamagne tha god. According to the Afropop artiste, Nigerian artistes are more successful than other African artistes because they are enthusiastic and aggressive.
Stonebwoy uttered that he has been analyzing this with some Nigerian artistes and they have come to the conclusion that their numbers in the music industry is not the main factor for their success. According to Stonebwoy, it is the persistence, assertiveness and the positive mindset of Nigerian artistes that has made them more successful than other African artistes.
Livingstone also mentioned that despite his admiration for the Nigerian artistes, he has no doubts that Ghanaian artistes are also doing their best towards the progress of African music. He furthered that African music is progressing because both Nigerian and Ghanaian artistes are playing their respective roles.
He stated that most of the top Nigerian artistes commend some Ghanaian artistes for helping them raise to fame. He cited that Burna Boy often says that he finds inspiration in Ghana.
