Emmanuel Gyamfi, a player of the Aduana Stars has been penalized by the Disciplinary Committee of the Ghana Football Association for what they term as a misconduct by the former Asante Kotoko player.
Emmanuel was accused of violating Article 34(6)(d) of the GFA punitive code when he misbehaved himself during the betPawa Premier league against the Asante Kotoko. From the investigation conducted, it was alleged that the player deliberately kicked Frederick Asare the goalkeeper of Asante Kotoko. The committee referred to this action as inappropriate.
After deliberately kicking the goalkeeper, Emmanuel also attacked Justice Blay, a player of the Asante Kotoko team.
Taking into consideration these offenses by the player, the committee which is headed by Mr. Osei Kwadwo Adow, concluded that Emmanuel should be exempted from five premier league games and in addition to this, he must pay GH¢20,00.
Emmanuel admitted that the first allegation is true but he is innocent of the second allegation levelled against him. He noted that he did not attack Justice Blay but rather he tried to free himself from his clasp.
According to Gyamfi, Blay tried to stop him from attacking Frederick who had kicked his ankle during the match. He was infuriated by the goalkeeper’s action because he thought that his career could be jeopardized by Frederick’s kick. In an attempt to confront Frederick, he ended up pushing Blay aside but he did not attack him.
Emmanuel Gyamfi furthered that Blay was his friend when he was part of the Asante kotoko team and there is no way he would assault him.
