Dr. Nyaho Nyaho Tamakloe, the former chairman of the Ghana Football Association and also a politician has asserted his opinion on why the Black Galaxies of Ghana couldn’t perform during the African Nations Championship (CHAN).

Speaking in an interview on Asempa FM which was monitored by 1Family radio, Dr. Nyaho stated that the poor performance by the Black Galaxies can be attributed to the deception about their real ages. He noted that some of the players were not able to perform well because of their age and also the lack of stamina.

He made this statement after the Black Galaxies were terminated from the championship after loosing to Niger by two goals to nil.

According to him, the galaxies players were not able to please anyone with their performance because most of them lied about their age. He claimed that more than 70% percent of the players are in their mid-thirties and therefore they didn’t have stamina as compared to their opponents.

Dr. Nyaho declared that the reason for the poor performance is due to the age cheating by the players. He furthered that this has been happening over the years and it is causing a lot of problems for the team and also the country.

He believes most of the players are over thirty-five years and this can be confirmed by the Magnetic Resonance Imaging scan. He furthered that you can be able to tell that some of these players are over thirty years just by looking at their faces.

The former Chairman noted that younger ones should be those playing because football is basically about resistance and momentum. Using the march between Ghana and Niger, he stated that most of the Ghanaian players looked way older than the Niger players. Therefore it wasn’t surprising when they defeated the Black Galaxies.

He urged that the GFA should check this age cheating and do something about it.
