The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has announced to the general public that the provisional results of the 2022 Basic Education Certificate Examination has been released by the council. The results of the school candidates will be conveyed to their respective schools.
Following a press statement released by the council on January 25, 2023, it was stated that candidates can check their results by using the council’s website www.waecgh.org.
It was stated that a total of 552,288 candidates sat for the examination. Out of these, 276,999 were males and 275,289 were females. 65 of these were visually challenged, 427 were hearing-impaired. During the examinations, a total of 4,309 candidates were not present.

416 school candidates and 3 private candidates subjects were cancelled for either conniving with other students or bringing foreign materials into the examination hall. Subjects results of 38 school candidates are withheld until conclusion of investigations of reported examination malpractice.
The entire results of 73 school candidates and 2 private candidates are cancelled for entering the examination hall with mobile phones. 11 entire results of school candidates are also pending for reported examination malpractice. 40 scripts of school candidates are under scrutiny. “the withheld results may be released or cancelled base on the outcome of the investigation.
The council urged all stakeholders to be cautious of fraudsters who promise to upgrade results of candidates.
