Hopeson Adorye, the former parliamentary aspirant of the New Patriotic Party for the kpone Katamanso Constituency, a vibrant politician and a leading member of the NPP has cried out to the management of the party to let Ken-Ofori Atta, the finance minister and other leading members of the party to clarify current issues pertaining to the Domestic Debt Exchange Program.
He made this statement on January 23, 2023 in an interview on Neat FM monitored by 1Family radio. The one-time parliamentary aspirant said thinks that the Finance Minister and his deputies together with any government official involved in the economy of the country to be going to the media houses in Ghana to clarify the details of the DDEP to Ghanaians.
Hopeson noted that it is now tough for the representatives, himself inclusive to address the current economy issues of the country.
He furthered that they are not excited about what is happening now in Ghana. “it is now very difficult to defend the government”, he quoted. According to him, things have really gone out of hands since no one is able to defend the government now.
He lamented that this issue is very serious and it requires explanation from the people involved. He thinks the best thing to do now is for the people involved to address the issues by going on televisions and radio stations to explain things to Ghanaians.
Adorye concluded that the finance minister should be talking to the public. He doesn’t fathom why Ken Ofori-Atta has refused to talk. He also stated that Adu Boahen should also speak because he was part of the people who drew the programme.
