Inhabitants of Obuasi educated on MyNHIS App

Kwabena Kyeremateng, the manager of the Obuasi NHIS and the Obuasi office of the National Health Insurance Scheme has taken it upon themselves to educate the natives of Obuasi about the MyNHIS App. 

This app allows users of the NHIS card to conveniently access membership services in the comfort of their homes. This app was unveiled by the Vice President, Mahamudu Bawumia in December last year.

The Obuasi office of the National Health Insurance Scheme travelled to the Obuasi Central Business District and educated the natives and traders there on the essence of the app and how to use the app. This was part of their projects to observe the NHIS’ active month which commenced in December 2022.

This app as stated by Kwabena Kyeremateng seeks to heightened the membership of the NHIS card, the app will aid users to access frequently asked questions and also connect the NHIS card to their Ghana cards. This app can be downloaded on Google Play store or Apple store.

The manager noted that accessing the app could be tough due to the network. However, that should not discourage them from using the app because it will provide them a more conveivent way to access better health care.

He further promised that this public education will be taken to the other parts of Obuasi Municipality to sensitized the residents on the app.

Some people at the meeting asked the NHIS office to consider those without smart phones because this will be demerit to them.
